Where to play? Winter golf in the UK

Recommended Posts

@OwenDavies

Over in this part of the world (Suffolk in particular) a lot of the courses are on heathland so always drain well and normally stay fairly dry throughout the winter.

Places like Thetford and Woodbridge are great but also Purdis Heath (Ipswich Golf Club) is always in great nick this time of year!

if your based near the M1/M6/A14 then Kilworth Springs is an option, built on a former quarry if it isn't open you ain't playing anywhere.

Nearer Northampton I'd recommend Brampton Heath,

for Oxfordshire, try Tadmarton Heath,

Brampton Heath, is on sandy soil and next door you have Northamptonshire County, although at a very different price point :)

Anything on sandy soil is a good bet!
