Favourite Fun Comps

Recommended Posts

So by the end of November my club generally shuts down on qualifiers, and until March the calendar will be full of the Winters Pair comp, and various other team and fun Comps that keep the diehards interested in playing. Our course is built on chalk so free draining but whilst is is great for rain we still have issues with fog delays and the dreaded snowfall.

anyway, we are always on the lookout for new varieties of fun Comps that can be used. Texas Scramble and Florida Scramble go down well, as do Yellow Ball and Multiplier variants for team Comps. Personal favourite of mine is our Greenskeeper Revenge were the greenskeepers can plot their revenge by using pin positions that will make you scratch your eye balls out ... half way up the slope on a two tier green, in the fringe about 6 inches from a bunker,  as well as the top of the mounding next to the green. It's a fun format but we don't give prizes for is comp and all proceeds from entry fees go to the Greenskeepers bonus.

anything you guys do for winter golf to keep it interesting?

We play sticks for fun. matchpaly format and whoever wins the hole gets to pick one of the losers clubs they cannot play with by putting an elasticband it, then if they win the next hole they can either choose to take that band off or put one on the losers.

it can get interesting..............
