2018 Handicap cahnges

Recommended Posts

Understood but the maximum handicap for Men has also been increased to 54 under the CONGU changes at the start of 2018. This was why I was asking whether the change was reflected in Golfshake.

So you would have to set your profile as a "beginner"? We are a fairly young society, (2 yo) that all mainly play at the slightly higher end of the handicap system (18+) and looking to attract new members that are beginners that would benefit from starting beyond 28.

Perfect, thanks Darren.

We have a society/group page setup but would be keen to start utilising this more this year, is there a how to or help guide to get the best from the system?

Morning Steve,  all the society information is in the link below.  However, I am in the process of doing some site tweaks, a major update to the help files and some new videos and FAQ walkthroughs

The group/society system should pretty much do whatever you need, hopefully :)

Any questions on it just ask.

Hi, when I started submitting my scores for handicap tracking I didn't enter my starting handicap of 22. I am now trying to re-enter this and recalcualte my handicap accordingly, but when I do it doesn't appear to do anything? I've submitted 5 rounds since tracking on golf shake and it's given me a playing handicap of 25, but if I had started on 22, I wouldn't be this high, especially considering one of the rounds was an 87 gross.

      Good evening,
I have been a social golfer for a few years now and decided to join a club for the first time this January so I could get   competition CONGU handicap. The pro in our shop as told me I need to hand in the 3 supplementary cards to get my initial handicap along with £3. £1 per card. Is this common practice? I always thought that when you joined a club  any fees towards a handicap were part of the membership.

So I'm 19 and been playing golf years but only recently through the app I've got a handicap. It's currently 13 but coming down quite quickly. I'm looking at entering a few local amateur tournaments and was wondering if my handicap certificate through golf shake is enough to enter or if it would have to be an official certificate through being a member of a club? Also on the applications it asks what club I'm a member at.

Let's have a weekly thread on where were playing and what goals we would like to achieve!
      Week 22 - 29th May - 4th June
I'll start - Robin Hood medal (never played it, par 72 sss72) would be nice to crack the 70s this year four medals in best is 82 with the standard 2 hole blow up. I'd like a round where I make no mental errors or a double+
Sunday - Nuneaton (my old track, blues par 71 sss72) gents open pairs - prizes would be ace after throwing it away Monday
Extra add - Monday GolfShake trip to the shire - enjoyable day/hack out :-) and no traffic there and back #M25Drama
What do you have planned ?? Do tell :-)
      Have a good weekend

Hi Guys, sorry if this has been asked before. I have looked at previous forum questions and can't find one that answers my query. Upon sign up I entered some scores from previous games and have been adding as I play ever since. I calculated my Handicap and 28 came back which didn't surprise me as I'm still pretty new. However since then I have entered a few scores and the change is always 0, but I do score points. For instance my last few scores are 36, 36, 28, 36. Are my scores too rubbish to make an impact?
Sorry if this is blindly obvious, still getting my head around handicaps.
