Handicap not changing Query

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys, sorry if this has been asked before. I have looked at previous forum questions and can't find one that answers my query. Upon sign up I entered some scores from previous games and have been adding as I play ever since. I calculated my Handicap and 28 came back which didn't surprise me as I'm still pretty new. However since then I have entered a few scores and the change is always 0, but I do score points. For instance my last few scores are 36, 36, 28, 36. Are my scores too rubbish to make an impact?

Sorry if this is blindly obvious, still getting my head around handicaps.

OK, working on 2 points for a par then 36 is par for the course. You need to score more than 36 to attract a cut,

Don't panic, if you are returning scores of 36 you wont be far away from getting that 28 handicap down

Hi Rob

Thank you very much for that, completely answered my question. I was going to say I expecting it to increase, but have since read that 28 is the max.

Thank you again for taking the time to answer my query.

The difference between Par and SSS will depend on whether 36 is a true reflection on the stableford par for the course. if SSS is two shots less than par then 36 becomes 38 :)

      Good evening,
I have been a social golfer for a few years now and decided to join a club for the first time this January so I could get   competition CONGU handicap. The pro in our shop as told me I need to hand in the 3 supplementary cards to get my initial handicap along with £3. £1 per card. Is this common practice? I always thought that when you joined a club  any fees towards a handicap were part of the membership.

Can anyone tell me if the Golfshake website has been modified to reflect the maximum handicap changes that were introduced at the start of 2018?

So I'm 19 and been playing golf years but only recently through the app I've got a handicap. It's currently 13 but coming down quite quickly. I'm looking at entering a few local amateur tournaments and was wondering if my handicap certificate through golf shake is enough to enter or if it would have to be an official certificate through being a member of a club? Also on the applications it asks what club I'm a member at.

Let's have a weekly thread on where were playing and what goals we would like to achieve!
      Week 22 - 29th May - 4th June
I'll start - Robin Hood medal (never played it, par 72 sss72) would be nice to crack the 70s this year four medals in best is 82 with the standard 2 hole blow up. I'd like a round where I make no mental errors or a double+
Sunday - Nuneaton (my old track, blues par 71 sss72) gents open pairs - prizes would be ace after throwing it away Monday
Extra add - Monday GolfShake trip to the shire - enjoyable day/hack out :-) and no traffic there and back #M25Drama
What do you have planned ?? Do tell :-)
      Have a good weekend
