Just got back from two weeks in Barbados and I can highly recommend it as a golf destination. My wife and i played four of the five courses on the island (we couldn't afford Sandy Lane!) and, in old Miss World fashion, our ratings were: 4th (a long way back) - Rockley golf club, 9 holes in very poor condition winding between apartments and villas with not much of a view and very tight driving areas. It's easy to be on someone's patio with your tee shot; 3rd - Royal Westmoreland, greens and fairways were top dressed and scarified with debris left on the fairways - I almost lost a ball inthe middle of a couple of holes but a lovely club house and great sea views; 2nd - Barbados Golf Club, very welcoming, a nice course in good condition for the time of year and fantastic views. Some lovely and challenging holes where you could even shoot your handicap if the wind isn't too strong!
1st (by a distance) - Apes Hill, any description here couldn't do it justice. It's a gorgeous course with a fantastic layout and very welcoming - even better when the proper club house opens next year. If you find yourself in Barbados don't miss the chance to play here.
